It runs on Kontakt 5 and the free Kontakt 5 player, and is part of the acclaimed Berlin Series of orchestral instruments.
What's included in the library?
The Berlin Woodwinds library consists of 11 solo instruments and two three-player ensembles, as follows:
FULL Orchestral Tools - Berlin Woodwinds [KONTAKT]
3 individual flutes: flute 1, flute 2, and piccolo/alto flute
2 individual oboes: oboe 1 and oboe 2/English horn
2 individual Bb clarinets: clarinet 1 and clarinet 2
2 individual bassoons: bassoon 1 and bassoon 2
1 contrabassoon
1 bass clarinet
1 flute ensemble (3 players)
1 clarinet ensemble (3 players)
All instruments were played by different musicians, and the ensembles were recorded in real time with no overdubbing. Each instrument offers a wide range of articulations, such as legato, staccato, marcato, trills, runs, and more. You can also choose between different attack options for long notes, such as soft, immediate, or accented. The library also features adaptive legato, which reacts to the playing speed and ensures a realistic sound for fast runs and expressive melodies.
How does it sound?
The Berlin Woodwinds library sounds natural, balanced, and detailed. The samples were recorded on the Teldex Scoring Stage, which has a rich history of classical music recordings. The sound is warm, spacious, and blends well with other instruments. You can also adjust the sound to your liking by using the six microphone positions available: close, room, mix, AB stereo, surround, and height. The mix position is a pre-mixed combination of the other positions, which gives you a quick and easy way to get a good sound out of the box. The other positions allow you to create your own custom mix and add more depth and realism to your arrangements.
How to get it?
The Berlin Woodwinds library is available only as a download from Orchestral Tools' website. The download size is about 53 GB (compressed from 100 GB of samples), so you will need a fast internet connection and enough disk space. The price of the library is 649 euros (plus VAT), but you can also buy single instruments from 62 euros each. If you already own the original Berlin Woodwinds (Legacy version for Kontakt), you can get the Revive Crossgrade for 149 euros (plus VAT), which includes the additional content contained in the new version. You will also need Kontakt 5 or the free Kontakt 5 player to run the library.

It offers a high level of quality, variety, and flexibility, and is compatible with other Berlin Series libraries. Whether you need solo lines, custom ensembles, or complex voicings, you will find what you need in this library.
